I am here, why are you here? A look at THE POWER OF NOW by Eckhart Tole

I am standing here, looking at the window across the street. I do not notice, for the first time I am able to see the window. No smoke, no noise, no work, no deadline, yes time, yes energy and yes I am here.

One day, I will wake up, but that day will likely be everyday. But what day will it be when I finally wake up. It doesn’t count, I am awake, I am typing, I am here.

If the auctioneers come back, they will find me here, they will take my property and my laptop, and they will leave me here, but that is when they come, now I am here.

She sells sea shells at the sea-shore, she makes money, she does not care, she cares about the sunshine, the sand, the beach, the look on people’s eyes when they have too little to buy sea shells, so she offers to let them build sand castles, for free, with free sea/ocean water, because she is there.

Imagination fueled by the urge to realize it, rotates the world. Presence holds it in place because it never moves itself, like a mountain, it holds still, in light and in dark, it remains itself, it is just present.

You are here, you are gone, you are coming, you are and I am, so we are.

Celebrate, mourn, scold, smile, kick, kick some more, kick harder, break your bone, feel the pain, punch, punch again, then punch him and her, then them, for they all are here, they are here, they are here, because you are here.

I trust you, with nothing that is mine, and I have nothing, so I trust you anyway. Do what you like, its you who’s here, and I am here, whether you are or not, I am here.

No matter what you do, stay present; the universe is unfolding.

  1. Hi Christiano – it’s very difficult to stay in the ‘now’ – we’re always so preoccupied with worries about the future and regrets about the past – all pointless, while life goes on, often without our noticing it. I haven’t read Eckhart Tole – thanks for the recommendation.
